Appointment Arrival Protocol Update - NO CALL IN NEEDED

It has been less than a year since we started allowing one masked person into the building and we are now happy to announce that starting January 2, 2023 we will be unlocking our doors. Please wear a mask when you enter the building and for the entire duration you are in the building.  Plexiglass shields have been placed around the reception counters so the receptionists can drop their masks when they need to talk on the phone but at all other times our staff will also continue to wear masks.  A properly worn mask needs to cover the nose as well as the mouth.  If it does not, it is the equivalent of wearing no mask at all.  This is the one request we will not waver on.  No maskNo entry. You do not need to call when you are here for appointments, surgical or boarding drop off and pickups, medication, or food pickups.  We are still allowing only one person in the appointment room due to the size of the rooms. Curbside appointments and pick up will still be an option for clients who prefer or require them. Please let us know when you are booking an appointment if you would like curbside so we can schedule the appropriate amount of time. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to check in. If you will not be able to be here 10 minutes before your appointment start time, we request you reschedule your appointment. If you are late to your appointment, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment.

With the new changes we will also be going back to our 15 minute well visits/vaccine appointments for pets we have previously seen. If you are coming in for a well visit/vaccine appointment and have any concerns or questions please let us know at the time you are scheduling so we can make sure your appointment is scheduled with the appropriate amount of time for the doctor to address your concerns. We are booking out less 2 weeks for well visits/vaccine appointments. We reserve appointment times for problem visits so we can take care of our patients with medical issues within a few days and sick/urgent visits are booked the same day by calling at 7:30 am for a same day appointment. Do you use our app? You can request appointments, medicine refills, and see your pet’s vaccines on our app, Pet Page. To log in please make sure to use the email address you have listed on your account, the address this email was sent to. If you do not have a smartphone, you can access the app on a computer by visiting our website, towneandcountryveterinaryhospital.com, and click the “Pet Portal/AllyDVM” tab. Please allow up to 24 hours for medication refills and written prescriptions, especially controlled drugs. Upon approval of refills and appointments you will receive a confirmation via text or email letting you know when your refill is ready and your appointment requests have been fulfilled.

We know many of our clients, and employees, have never seen our hospital operate as ‘normal.’  Please bear with us as we all get used to the ‘new’ flow. Upon arriving at Towne & Country we ask that you come in the building and sign in on the clipboard between reception stations 1 & 2 near the entry door for any reason, appointment, medication refill, sample drop off, or treat purchase. After you have signed in, please have a seat in the waiting area, the next available receptionist will get you taken care of. If you prefer curbside, please call in as we have been doing over the past few years and a receptionist will assist you. At the end of your appointment, you will be able to wait in our discharge waiting area or in your car to do discharge over the phone if you prefer. You can also take your pet back to your vehicle and come back in the building to check out if you would like.

The pick-up lockers will continue to be a quick access to medications and foods with no waiting. Unless it involves a controlled drug or temperature sensitive medication (which we would request to still be prepaid to save time when you come in to pick them up), no calling in or entering the building when you get to our office is required to pick-up prepaid items.  Just pull up, enter one of our two locker areas, punch in your code, and you are on your way. The front locker area is accessible during business hours and for your convenience the back locker area is accessible at any time provided the sliding door is open.

We hope to be able to keep our doors unlocked and have no more closures due to illness but all we can guarantee at this time is we have no plans to do that. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for weather, health related, and holiday closings.  Here is a list of our planned 2023 closings.
